Since its foundation in 1988 dctp - the DEVELOPMENT COMPANY FOR TELEVISION PROGRAM mbH - has been a platform for independent producers in German cultural television. DCTP`s goal is to combine information, education, and culture to form one complete program spectrum. To create this complete program, dctp cooperates under the so-called publishers principle with partners from renowned publishing houses (such as DER SPIEGEL, NEUE ZUERCHER ZEITUNG, SUEDDEUTSCHE ZEITUNG) and with BBC Worldwide. The dctp cultural magazines als make part of the total program spectrum with their major focus on topics such as opera, film, book and science. Film series, e.g. "German and International Film Classics", and special long programs (2-5 hours) complete the spectrum. The program slots, for which dctp holds licenses on channels RTL, SAT.1 and VOX, are filled by the partners in complete editiorial independence but under the final responsibilty of dctp.
